Independence Pass Guidelines
The Independence Pass is valid for unlimited general admission for a period of one year from the date of purchase. The Independence Pass cannot be used for premium tours, workshops, or special events. One Independence Pass is issued exclusively for each purchaser; the passes are non-refundable and non-transferable. There will be a $10 service fee to replace lost or stolen passes.
Please arrive at the Monticello Welcome Pavilion at the Thomas Jefferson Visitor Center at least 30 minutes prior to your tour reservation. This will enable you to park, collect your tickets, and ride the shuttle bus to the mountaintop by your reserved entry time.
A photo ID is required at the time of check-in.
Visitors are admitted to the house according to the times printed on their tickets. Please note that if you should arrive late for your reserved time, you will be assigned the next available time slot on that day. On some days, this could mean a significant wait. Reservations and tickets are valid only on the date specified.
