We are currently recruiting to fill the following positions:
Customer Service Representative (temporary). Multi-tasking associate needed for Monticello’s busy mail order Distribution Center located in Ivy. Duties will include answering the phone, processing phone and mail orders and packing merchandise in the warehouse when needed. We are looking for an energetic person who has above average computer skills, good telephone skills and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Previous phone processing or mail order experience is a plus. This is a temporary position through December 31, 2010. Must be able to work up to 40 hours/week. Application materials must be received by July 30.

Fulfillment Associate (temporary). Monticello has the perfect opportunity for you to work 24-40 hours per week (some weekends) until December 24. Position is located at Monticello’s Distribution Center in Ivy. Individual will stock, pack, ship, receive, and inspect merchandise for our museum shop and growing catalog operation. Candidates must have good math skills and neat handwriting. Some computer and warehouse experience helpful. Physical labor required. Candidate must be able to load and unload trucks. Position requires repetitive lifting of up to 50 lbs., as well as constant standing, twisting, reaching, and working on ladders. The part-time work hours will range between 8 AM and 5 PM. Nursery Associate (Full-Time). Monticello seeks a nursery associate to work at the Center for Historic Plants at our Tufton Farm location. Qualified candidates will have experience with horticultural techniques and knowledge of plant nomenclature. Working outside in all weather conditions and lifting upwards of 50 lbs. is an essential function of the position. Application materials must be received by July 30.
